The FIO Rally Team is owned and operated by Eddie and Diane Fiorelli.
Driver: Eddie Fiorelli
Eddie Fiorelli started rallying in 2000 with his then-roomate Erik Christiansen while both were graduate students. Under the banner of 2097 Racing they purchased Ramana Lageman’s 1985 Volkswagen Golf and competed in events on the east coast. After Erik graduated in 2003 they sold the Golf and split up the team. Erik went on to Los Angeles where he began racing (a 1987 Volkswagen GTI) and Eddie went on to kart racing. In 2006 after graduating himself Eddie moved to Los Angeles and picked up his own rally prepped 1987 Volkswagen GTI. Eddie has competed in rally, karting, rallycross and autocross.
Eddie has his doctorate in aerospace and mechanical engineering and is employed as a guidance, navigation, and controls engineer at Northrop Grumman Space and ISR Systems.
Co-Driver: Brent Ellzey
Brent Ellzey has been participating rally since the early 2000s. A dedicated volunteer and eventually event organizer, Brent made the transition to competitor in 2008.
Team Manager: Diane Fiorelli
Diane is responsible for making sure the team shows up to an event with all their ducks in a row. Usually this means hotel and travel planning, scheduling, and even covers packing of essential equipment like helmets and racing suits!
Chief Mechanic: Eddie Fiorelli
Like many privateer teams, keeping the car running and well prepped falls upon the owner. That being said no cheif mechanic works alone.
Mechanic: Erik Christiansen
Erik and Eddie co-owned their first Golf and Erik now runs his own GTI. Thus he knows a lot about VWs and can often be found alongside Eddie when the team is undertaking large projects. Erik is a valuable team member whose only payment is typically a cheap lunch or dinner.
Crew: Assorted
We generally try to get by on minimal crew but there are people that should singled out for going above and beyond and should be considered valuable team members.

Owners and ralliests themselves competing as the RallyNotes.com team, Kris and Christine Marciniak have loaned the Flying Rabbit Rally Team crew and have donned crew clothing themselves themselves at several events.
